1mile2 Launch Event March 30th, 2011

1mile2 is an innovative eight-month artistic project that will present the work of local and international artists and will explore how we live, work and act together. And it will all happen within a one square mile area encompassing Guelph's downtown core!

The project will launch in Guelph on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 with a lecture by New York artist Mary Mattingly and a performance of his multimedia play Actionable! by Bob Wiseman.

Led by Musagetes, 1mile2 is a collaborative project bringing together a myriad of partners including: the Guelph Jazz Festival, the Improvisation, Community and Social Practice (ICASP) project, Ed Video, Festival of Moving Media, the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre, School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph, Kazoo! and diyode.

For more information or to schedule an interview please contact Nora Webb at 1mile2@musagetes.ca or call 519-836-7300.
