Next Session: Friday, April 8th, 4 pm at the Guelph Public Library Rebecca Caines, John Campbell and Nicholas Loess "Improvised Memory Boxes" A special Guelph version of the interactive workshop performance event which will be held at the Performance Studies international Conference in Utrecht, the Netherlands in May. Come along and help us "remember" ICASP's work in 2010-2011 through an interactive workshop in video, photography, audio and text; resulting in a brand new website created and improvised into being by the workshop participants.

1mile2 is an innovative eight-month artistic project that will present the work of local and international artists and will explore how we live, work and act together. And it will all happen within a one square mile area encompassing Guelph's downtown core! The project will launch in Guelph on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 with a lecture by New York artist Mary Mattingly and a performance of his multimedia play Actionable! by Bob Wiseman.

Tactics for Improvisation Workshop (Guelph): January 20th, 2011

Ron East, Master Teacher in Physical Theatre, will conduct a series of workshops with ICASP in 2011 on aspects of Lecoq training techniques. The first session will introduce improv skills and explore the basics of physical play in the theatrical space. The workshop is designed to be of use to theatre students and anyone comfortable with physical expression and willing to explore with movement. This will form a foundation for the second session – on the neutral mask. The workshop is limited to 16 participants. When: Thursday, January 20th, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30

We’ll all be more innovative if we participate in collaborative webs and share more openly. Creativity is always a collaboration and it’s always a form of improvisation, written large in the social world.
